CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS INC.
FERTIGATION TECHNOLOGY
CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS INC (CCS) designs and manufacturers computer controlled Drip Fertigation Systems for the greenhouse vegetable and flower crops. With many years of intensive research and development for greenhouse hydroponic crops we now offer a unique fertilizer management system.
The " FERTIGATION MANGER" allows growers for flower crops, vegetable crops, vineyards, nursery crops and field crops to achieve higher levels of profitability by increasing crop yields and quality, at the same time decreasing fertilizer, water and labor costs.
FERTIGATION MANAGER
for DRIP IRRIGATED CROPS
The FERTIGATION MANAGER is a computer controlled injection system that manages the most complex process in fertilizer mixing not found in any other Fertigation system. The user friendly software allows the growers to deliver fertilizer formulas with great accuracy and simplicity. With balanced fertilizer programs plants achieve higher quality and yields.
With custom Fertigation and Irrigation programs the grower can create many fertilizer formulas on line while irrigating crops. The fertilizer formulas are programmed and controlled in PPM with EC an pH measured and controlled on line during each irrigation cycle. Each crop can have its own feed formula mixed on line without readjusting fertilizer elements in the fertilizer stock tanks.
The FERTIGATION MANAGER can control many irrigation valves. Irrigation is started by time, solar light, or external sensors. It is available with pneumatic or electronic injectors, which provides maximum flexibility to mix any fertilizer recipe required for different crops. This saves on stocking the many different types of premixed fertilizers to satisfy different feeding requirements for each type of crop.
FERTIGATION MANAGER for
NFT and EBB and FLOW SYSTEMS
The FERTIGATION MANAGER has a unique ( Nutrient Film Technique) NFT program, which can precisely monitor plant nutrient uptake in NFT or EBB and FLOW SYSTEMS. This process monitors crop fertilizer consumption, and automatically replenishes No3, Nh4, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, and micro nutrients while maintaining EC and pH balance of the irrigation water.
The FERTIGATION MANAGER is a smart system that gives growers the flexibility to feed many different crops with one centralized Fertigation system. It is available with different configurations, from six to twelve precision pneumatic or electronic injectors and with EC and pH meters, solar sensors and optional external sensors.
Optional Sensors include:
- External Start Trays
- Light Sensor ( Pyronometer )
- Leachate Counters
Any CCS injector as listed above can be enhanced with the FERTIGATION MANAGER computer control package with ease. CCS is a well designed common sense injector system. Fully expandable, easily upgradeable and the most accurate form of fertilizer dispensement.
Question :The skid mounted fully assembled units are great ..... but I consider myself a bit of a fabricator / plumber .... can I build one myself.
Answer :: You certainly can. A lot of growers do. As an example a grower wishes a simple three head system for A/B and acid injection. He wishes to do 200 to 1 injection and has a flow rate of 50 gallons per minute ( 189 liters/min ).Well lets take a look at the injector head requirements. At 189 liters per minute flow and at 200 to 1 injection. The injector head would have to displace 0.946 liters or 946 cc of solution per minute. If consideration was made for our 40 cc heads, this means the injector would have to cycle 24 times a minute or once every 7.8 liters flow ( This figure is important cause with this number, it'll be the on to program into the flow controller --- that is if you are setting the injector displacement at 40 cc per stroke ). On the other hand say you wish to set the displacement of the injector from 40 to 30 cc per stroke you will need to enter in a new flow setting into the batch controller. In this case it would be 946 (cc/min) / 30 (cc/stroke) = 31.5 strokes per min. And with a total water flow of 189 liters per minute we'd program into the flow controller 189 liters/min / 31.5 strokes/min = 6 liters per stroke. This number would be entered into the flow controller.
Anyhow back to the original question .... what do you need to purchase if you are planning on a 3 head system in kit form. Quite simple .... you need to purchase 3 injector heads such as our CCS HH2-20CC or CCS HH2-40CC heads, one flow controller such as our CCS-5500 Flow Meter c/w water flow sensor and pipe saddle and you have the basic parts to build you own system.
To add EC and pH control instrumentation is a snap. And it can be done at any time. Actually a lot of growers simply purchase the basics as indicated in paragraph above and do not include EC and pH sensing. ( But we have to tell you, it is a great feature to have ). First it always provides indication of the fertilizer quantities being shipped out. And if you wish, since the meters are provided with 2 alarm set points, you can simply fail the fertilizer injector heads on high EC conditions or the acid head on low pH conditions. This way ..... you will never ship out the wrong amounts of fertilizer even if you mix up the stock tanks incorrectly.
Question : Do you have simple system powered injectors ?Answer: Sure do. Click here and it will take you to our Chemilizer system powered diaphragm injector section. You will have to use the return function on your browser to return here. For those familiar with system powered piston type pumps ---- you will be surprised at the endurance and long life of these pumps.
Question : Why do you use air pressure to operate your pump heads.
Answer : Its quite simple. With pneumatic air pressure the diaphragm pumps heads simply last for ever. We have numerous Anderson and Williams systems out in operation, many over ten years old. Never done a thing to them.Speaking of Anderson heads .... for those that are tired of replacing water motors, cracked heads, and split diaphragms ... just maybe you should consider converting your injectors to pneumatic. Growers simply cannot believe the ease of conversion, greater pump control and ease of maintenance that we can provide .... So if you have an Anderson system and wish to upgrade it .... hey call us ..... it might be the best call of the season that you make. agropon@agroponic.com
Question : What the heck is a suction site tube ???
Answer: All our injectors are provided with a calibrated suction site tube. Its great for setting up the injector head ( ie dialing in the displacement ) and the best thing is just by watching the level in the suction tube you can visually tell the head is working. Just an inexpensive feature. Growers simply love them. Actually seven years ago, we went out to do some service work on a standard 3 head Anderson system. After we had rebuilt the heads we took out our site tubes to adjust the pump heads. After the grower saw our tubes, the benefits and the piece of mind from visual operation, we ended up selling them an extra 15 site tubes.
Question : When to use EC and pH Control verses Flow Control ?
Answer: It all depends in the flow conditions in your greenhouse. As an example say you have conditions where zone flows range from 10 gallons per minute to 150 gallons per minute and you are doing inline injection via pump control via the EC and pH meters. Well depending on the quality of the meters you won't be a happy camper. Just to much variance in water flow even to set up the system. Even with mA output control and mA control injectors you will see quite a variance in EC and pH. Whereas going with electronic flow control absolutely no problems. We have numerous systems with with 3" manifolds ( 300 GPM rating ), with electronic flow sensing and EC and pH metering. Well you can stand in front of the meters and watch flows vary anywhere from 13 GPM up to 300 GPM and hardly see the needles or display on the EC and pH meters change.
Question : Why do we so strongly recommend CCS injectors ???
Answer: Well I'm taking off my sales hat now and putting on my contractor/installers hat. When you have numerous multi head systems out in the market place with over ten years of service and you've never been called back for repair or even contacted for parts ..... what more can be said.
Question : Installation of the factory fabricated units --- What's involved ??
Answer : Not much. Simply connect your incoming water line, connect your leaving water line, connect your stock tanks to the calibrated suction site tubes, provide compressed air from an air compressor, plug unit into 120 volt power supply, program in information ( generally if the client furnishes injection ratio and water flow to use --- we program before its shipped ), mix-up your fertilizer stock solutions, calibrate injector head displacement and you are off to the races. We've made injection a snap.
Question : Pnuematic / Electronic pump heads. Which to use ????
Answer : Our flow controller allows use to provide a broad range of pump selections where they be pnuematic or electronic pumps. If you are looking for a long term, low maintenance sytem we would recommend strongly in considering our pnuematic systems. I know what you are thinking, "I'll need an air compressor ?" But its not much of a consideration. The air comsumption is very low and in most cases the growers already has a compressor in house. The nice thing that growers report to use is with the pnuematic system, they can audibly hear the injector functioning ( and its reassuring to their ears. )
And if you don't wish for the hassel of using compressed air them I quest the selection is for our electronic pump heads.
Question : Whats PPM control ??
Answer : PPM control allows to to dispense and vary most fertilizer elements on a PPM basis. Remember plants typically require nitrogen, phosporus, potasium, calcium, magnesium, sulphates, iron, manganese, copper, zinc, boron and molybdeium, plus a provision must be made to furnish these at the right pH level. So if you wish to dispense your fertilizers on a PPM basis, it requires a multihead injector ( at least 8 heads ), computer sofware etc. For more information please contact us:agropon@agroponic.com
