Welcome to our 40' Reinforced Freestanding Greenhouse Detail Page

This page make take some time to load up entirely so be patient. This contains current details and features on our 40 foot (12.1 M ) wide freestanding units. It has always been our firm belief to provide as much detail as possible for our clients when considering a greenhouse purchase. At lot of companies promise a lot of things ...... but show little. We believe a picture and detail sheets are worth a thousand words.

A word about the images below. These are in approximately 70% scale. If you wish to view the image in full size simply click the image and a full sized view will be provided. To return to this page from viewing a large scale image please use the return function on your web browser.

Page One

If you study page one you will find that all of our arches are reinforced / wielded web type design. This provides incredible strength. This type of arch design is far far more stiff and rigid than the flimsy single bow / cross tie and strut type houses. On closer review you will note that our sidewalls which we call reinforced arch uprights are reinforced as well. This allows our structure to handle considerable sidewall snow loads.

Besides being able to carry high snow loads, our design provides a very stiff structure in high wind loads. Unlike single bow / strutted / cross tie type houses our structure shows less movement in wind events. This means greater poly life and grower confidence.

Need to hang some equipment or overhead crop.... well go ahead.

Our standard reinforced arch upright provides 4'-11" vertical sidewall height below sloping to the peak. For those growers that require higher sidewall clearances we offer 7 foot and 10 foot tall reinforced sidewall packages.

These sidewall packages are great:

Page Three

Page three indicates a sectional view with the poly attached to the greenhouse structure. The main roof is comprised of 48 foot wide sheet material and is secured to the roof along the gable ends and along the sidewall headers ( aluminum base. ) Each side wall is comprised of 8 foot wide material that is secured to the sidewall header and the aluminum base at the grade. This unique feature provides the grower with a lot of built-in roll up wall features if they decide to ventilate using this form of ventilation.

Page four as illustrated below indicates the framing layout for a plain end ( i.e. no doors ). All framing material is 1 1/2" sq., 16 gauge galvalum. The end wall framing is further stiffened up with wind bracing diagonals which transfer gable end wind loads back into the structure.

Double Poly Vent System

Our vent system offers great features.

Our arch pivots are spaced at 4 feet on center and are attached to our incredibly stiff reinforced arch system .... not to some wet noodle single bow arch. So in wind events .... well our vents will handle the loads.

Second ... Our arch pivot ... which a lot of our clients call shepherds hooks .... are just that. Our reinforced arch design allows the pivot point of our arch pivots to be located at the bottom cord of the arch far away from the poly. NO MORE HOLES AT THE PIVOT POINTS is the result. Again longer poly life.

Third ... Our standard vent package on the 40 foot freestanding units are: 1" galvanized schd. 40 drive shaft, racks/pinions and hangers at 4 0r 8 feet on center ( along each reinforced arch set or second arch set). Rubber EDPM flashing seal along the length of the vent. Just to name a few.

Since our system pivots on our STRONG REINFORCED ARCH SET, this provides a vent system many times stronger than single bow / single cord type structures. In wind load locations, you will find this design very benefical.

Double Poly Roof Vent

As indicated below, the double poly roof system allows you to open the roof along the length of the building. How high ??? Well four feet max. Couple that with a Vent Motor and controls such as a Ventstat, Ventmate, Growcom or Procom controller and you will have a true 8 stage vent system. Tons of power and flexibility. It puts you in the drivers seat.

Our aluminum base plate system. Once you use our base plate system you will scratch your head wondering why for all the years, and poly lose why you put up with the old wood base plate and wire lock set up. Our base is a structure product. It simply attaches to each arch set with clamps provided and is complete with built-in wire lock track.

Easy to install ...... looks great ..... won't rot ( like wood ) ..... extend the life of your poly ....
and best of all sleep well during those wind events.

For those that wish to go with them wood base plates ... let us know .... we'll price out the difference between just wire lock and our aluminum base.
